Help for Haiti!
On Friday 22nd January 2010, we held a non uniform day at our school, to
raise money for the UNICEF disaster fund for Haiti. The children had become so moved when we discussed the catastrophe during class. Children in Years 5 and 6 had also read about the disaster in the newspaper ‘First News’ and followed the story unfold on CBBC News round. There was an overwhelming response from the children and consequently they suggested that we should do something to raise money to help the disaster fund, hence the non-uniform day. Also, several classes in Years 5 and 6 volunteered to bake some cakes, which they sold to the children throughout the day.
Altogether, around £810 was raised! Thank you so much to everyone who
contributed.
