Sustainability Plan
At Tanners Wood, we are committed to creating a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future for our children and our wider community. We recognise the important role schools play in responding to climate change and are working together with pupils, staff, families and governors to reduce our environmental impact and develop sustainable habits that become part of everyday school life.
Our Sustainability Action Plan focuses on reducing energy, paper and waste, encouraging sustainable travel, conserving water, improving biodiversity and our outdoor spaces, and embedding climate and sustainability education throughout the curriculum. Our pupil Eco Team plays an important part in this work, helping to lead projects, campaigns and environmental improvements across the school.
We believe that every action, however small, can make a difference, and by working together we can help our children develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for our planet now and in the future.
